What is the Fairhope Voter Resource Project?

The Fairhope Voter Resource Project is an independent, nonpartisan website that gives voters a side-by-side look at where 2025 Fairhope City Council candidates stand on key local issues.

The site was created because a simple, unbiased comparison of candidate positions wasn’t available in an online format. This site was created to help people make more informed choices, supplementary to and independent of other candidate education opportunities.

Is the Fairhope Voter Resource Project affiliated with any political party or candidate?

No. This site is not connected to any campaign, candidate, or political group. It’s a neutral source of information for voters in Fairhope.

How were the candidates contacted?

Every candidate was contacted through their official channels, including campaign email addresses, campaign websites, or public Facebook pages. They were given the same amount of time and opportunity to respond.

What kind of questions were asked in the candidate survey?

The survey included questions on issues important to Fairhope residents, such as growth and development, infrastructure, the environment, schools, public safety, and transparency. These are the same questions that appear throughout this website. They were also asked for brief biographical information.

How are the responses published?

Each candidate’s answers are posted exactly as submitted—word for word. There’s no editing, summarizing, or commentary added.

What if a candidate didn’t respond?

If a candidate didn’t submit a response to the survey, the site will note that we are awaiting a response. Regarding individual questions, candidates were informed that each question is optional. If they choose not to respond, the site will note that the candidate did not provide a response.

When are candidate responses published?

Responses will be posted as they are received beginning August 3, 2025.

Can I share this site with others?

Yes, please do! The more people who have access to unbiased information, the better.

I’m a candidate. Can I still submit my responses?

Sure! If you're running for Fairhope City Council and haven’t submitted your responses yet, this site will remain live through the election season.

What is the schedule for the 2025 Fairhope municipal election?

On the City of Fairhope website, you can find a sample ballot and the following important dates:

• June 10-24, 2025 – Qualifying Period

• July 29, 2025 – Absentee Voting Begins (application link)

• August 21, 2025 – Last day to APPLY for absentee ballot

• August 25, 2025 – Last day to RETURN YOUR Hand-Delivered absentee ballot is the close of business (5:00 p.m.)

• August 26, 2025 – Last day to RECEIVE MAILED absentee ballots! Must be postmarked by August 24th and received by noon!

• August 26, 2025 – ELECTION DAY – POLL HOURS 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

• September 2, 2025 – Canvass the Election – 10:00 a.m. Council Chambers
